In February 2007, Chistlehurst was asked to do the Rock Challenge Roadshow!

We took to the road and visited 16 schools in and around PMB to perform a short 'show' to demonstrate what Rock Challenge is all about and to give an example of the type of work Rock Challenge is looking for!

The theme we chose was 'The Reality of Alcohol'.

The Plot:

A bunch of kids are hanging out together, having a good time. Lurking in the shadows, is 'Temptation' (representing alcohol), dancing to the ACDC song 'Have a drink on me'. This temptation is enough to make one of the girls pick up the alcohol bottle and take the first sip. Soon, all the kids join in, except for one. Eventually, after a lot of peer pressure, he drinks from the bottle. Intoxicated, he behaves foolishly and embarrasses himself in front of the girl he likes. Wanting more alcohol, he steps into the road and is hit by a car.

In the next scene, we see 'ghosts' who represent the statistic of young people who's lives have been taken directly or indirectly with the cause being alcohol...They take him away.

In the next scene, we see the kids from the beginning scene carrying the coffin of their friend. Walking in with them is 'Temptation' in disguise. They do not even realise he is there...

As the kids stand comforting each other, devastated at the tragic loss of their friend, 'Temptation' smugly dances as he points out members in the audience. Leaving the open question of, "Are you next???"

Our message: DON'T BECOME A STATISTIC - BECOME EDUCATED, BECOME WISE-SAY NO.
